When this couple reached out to me with their ideas/inspiration (including photos that I had taken in Palm Springs) for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be ICONIC!
From the moment we started planning this session, it was clear that this couple wanted their photos to reflect both their unique personalities and their shared love for adventure. Their chemistry was undeniable, and their joy radiated in every frame, making my job as a photographer an absolute delight!
This shoot was a dream come true: blending the timeless charm of a classic car, the iconic backdrop of windmills, and the couple's impeccable outfit changes. Each element came together beautifully to tell the story of love, adventure, and style.

Our session began on a picturesque street lined with mid-century modern architecture in Palm Springs California. The couple, dressed in chic, coordinated outfits, perfectly complemented the clean lines and pastel hues of the architecture. The bride-to-be wore a classic white dress that captured the timeless essence of the era, while the groom-to-be looked dapper in a light beige suit.
The vibrant colored doors and perfectly manicured lawns served as the perfect backdrop for photos while we waited for the classic car to arrive. The couple's playful and affectionate energy shone through as they strolled hand-in-hand down the palm-lined streets, creating candid moments that were a joy to capture.
The Classic Car
Partnering a classic car with these vibrant colors created an effortlessly cool vibe. The car—a vintage beauty parked alongside the colorful palm trees—became a perfect prop, offering a unique juxtaposition to the modern aesthetics of Palm Springs and added a touch of elegance/sophistication to the photos. The couple's coordinated attire—a crisp white dress and a tailored beige suit—complemented the car perfectly, creating a cohesive and timeless look.
The combination of the car and the couple’s playful chemistry made for some striking shots. We played with angles, capturing candid moments of laughter and anticipation as they posed inside and around the car. Each click of the shutter felt like a celebration of their love story, the car symbolizing both adventure and timeless romance.
Outfit Change + The Iconic Palm Springs Windmills at sunset
After capturing some stunning shots at the modern street, it was time to switch gears—literally!
As the sun began to set, we moved to the iconic windmills of Palm Springs. This location offered a dramatic change of scenery, with vast open spaces and the striking silhouette of wind turbines against the sky. The couple decided to do an outfit change, with the bride-to-be donning a vibrant red dress that added a pop of color against the tones of the desert landscape, and the groom-to-be in a classic black suit.
With the wind "gently" blowing, I captured candid moments as they embraced, laughed, and whispered sweet nothings into each other’s ears. It was a particularly magical moment when they danced amidst the windmills, their silhouettes outlined by the setting sun. These intimate shots became some of my favorites of the entire session, transcending mere images to become a testament to their love.
As we finished up the engagement session at the windmills with an absolutely insane sunset, I couldn’t help but feel swept away by the romance that filled the air. Palm Springs proved to be an enchanting backdrop, perfectly reflecting the couple’s love story while showcasing their unique style.
Photographing engagements reminds me that love exists in myriad forms and that every couple shares a unique story. The modern streets, classic car, and iconic windmills of Palm Springs provided the perfect backdrop for Amanda and Andrew’s narrative. I left feeling inspired and honored to have played a small role in their journey.
